Neroli

Neroli is also called as Citrus aurantium. It is well known for its oil. It is a plant with green leaves and orange flowers.

This plant contains perfume like bergamot, which is obtained from the flower of the acidic orange plant. It includes many elements such as limonene, geraniol, geranyul acetate, linalyl acetate and neryl acetate.

The flowers of this tree are collected, generally in the end of April to May. Essential oil is manufactured by water cleansing, because the flower is too delicate to go through steam cleansing.

During the seventeenth century, Anne Marie Orsini who was queen of Nerola, launched the essence of acidic orange plant looks like a trendy scent by making use of it to fragrance her bath and gloves.

From that time, Neroli has been applied as a perfume. It has a unique and refreshing hot fragrance with flowery and sweet notes. This floral oil is greatly utilized in the manufacture of perfume. It is a non-photo-toxic, non-toxic, non-sensitizing and non-irritant substance.

It is estimated that perfumes industries greatly used Neroli as the main component in the manufacture of perfumes. It combines well with any citrus oil, many flowery Supremes and most of the artificial elements obtainable in the marketplace.

So, Neroli essential oil is a common component in perfume design and widely used in the perfume manufacturer companies. It is also applied in alimentary where it has a restricted application.

Like an essential oil, applied in massage and aromatherapy, this herb is supposed to have a calming effect on the nervous system. Previously, neroli essential oil was not only applied to decrease anxiety and tension, but also heal thread vein scars and improve blood flow.

A mixture is prepared with adding some drops of neroli oil to a cup of wheat germ oil or sweet almond oil. After that, the oil is fixed by mixing extract of grapefruit seed. If pregnant ladies or children apply this mixture, it is suggested that use only half the amount of it.

Oil, which is derived from Neroli, is helpful in removing stretch marks, depression, stress, scars, insomnia and frigidity.

Precautions: One should not take neroli or any other oils internally without discussing with health care provider. It is good to discuss with qualified and experienced aromatherapy practitioner prior to make use of this herb for children. It is also advised that use any essential oil after conducting a test.
