When Hyperdonitia occurs with the primary teeth the additional teeth grow in the middle of the incisors. If this disease affects the permanent teeth, the additional teeth mostly occur in the side of the incisors.

The disease Hyperdonitia is the condition in which some teeth appear in addition to the regular number of the teeth. These additional teeth are called supernumerary teeth. These supernumerary teeth can grow both in the primary and permanent teeth. These additional teeth mostly occur between the incisors.

Affected population

Hyperdonitia The Chinese and South American population is mostly affected by the condition of Hyperdonitia. According to the survey 10 to 40% of total population of these countries affected by some form of Hyperdonitia. This disease rarely occurs in the northern part of the western hemisphere where it affects around .01% to .09% of the total population.

 

Causes

The major cause of Hyperdonitia is genetic disorder. This disease mostly occurs because of the faulty gene. The more existence of the disease in the Chinese and South American countries shows the effect of environment also. The topic is still under research. The effect of environment on the occurrence of Hyperdonitia is still not decided.

Treatment

The effective solution of the abnormality occurred because of the Hyperdonitia is to remove the excessive number of the teeth. The dentist can locate the right location of the teeth and remove it easily. Sometimes the supernumerary tooth does not occur and it affects the growth of the other neighboring teeth.

The molar type of Hyperdonitia is rarely found and mostly affects the growth of the wisdom teeth. If the wisdom teeth do not grow up to the age of 14 years, one should approach the doctor to know whether he is having a supernumerary tooth that doesn’t allow the wisdom teeth to grow.
