Aloe Vera plant is a member of the lily family and also looks like a cactus. There are about more than 200 species of aloe Vera available in the entire world.
Aloe Vera is also known by different names such as Flor del desierto, Aloe, Aloe de, Sabila, Loto del desierto and Zabila in different parts of the world.
Aloe Vera is also recognized by different scientific names like Aloe Africana, Aloe debrana, Aloe vulgaris, Aloe Vera barbadensis, Aloe camperi, Aloe sabaea, Aloe eminens, Aloe canarina, Aloe Vera lineo and many other varieties.
Aloe Barbadensis
This specie of aloe Vera was grown in the parts of West Indies around 16 th century. It also acts as a topical sedative and a skin moisturizer and is very beneficial in the healing of various diseases such as rashes, eczema, burns, redness, cancer and cold sores.
The latex of this aloe Vera plant is used for healing purposes and is grown in houses for curing various types of skin diseases. The person should only use the pure aloe Vera gel by cutting the inner layer from the aloe leaf which contains the yellow juice and then make use of this specie.
Aloe Saponaria
This specie of aloe Vera plant is mostly grown in sandy or gravel soils. This aloe Vera plant can survive without water for a long time and its leaves shrunken and curled in case of hot and dry climates. If the sufficient water is given to this plant, this will make the leaves fleshy and juicy. The leaves of this specie are utilized as soap alternate and this plant is mainly grown around the seaside gardens.
Aloe Africana
This plant was grown in the 18 th century in many parts of Europe which is considered as a single plant. This is the most famous specie of aloe Vera which acquires its popularity in the world because of strong architectural features, beautiful flowers and simple growth.
The leaves of this plant are mainly dry and its stem is about 2m high. Aloe Africana is extensively grown in subtropical and warm temperate regions of the world.
But now, it is also grown in hills and flats and also in the southeastern regions of South Africa which is located in the Eastern Cape . It is also widely grown in containers and pots and in the coastal gardens.
Aloe Camperi
Aloe camperi was first grown in the parts of Ethiopia and its growth is very simple. It contains a small stem and beautiful flowers. The aloe Vera leaves are in dark green color containing some light spots on the stem. When the flowers of this plant open, they appear in different colors like orange, pink and yellow. This plant requires sufficient water and is fixed in a rich soil.
Therefore, aloe Vera is recognized by many different scientific names and contains different uses.
